About me
"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you”
- Maya Angelou
I am ADHD bisexual astrophysicist who uses her time not thinking about this universe to dream up other fantastical universes. I write adult fantasy that builds the worlds around the relationships between characters, having found a way back to my love of writing during the pandemic, and have now completed 2 full manuscripts. My current project is finishing book 2 of the Wielders of Dragon Fire duology while doing a second round of revisions on the Sons of Nighthaven romantasy.
I am a member of the Maryland Writer's Association and the Speculative Fiction Writers Association. I love taking the physical constraints of the real world and sculpting them into believable magic systems and worlds, because what we call science today, generations before us called magic. In times past, I probably would have been burned as a witch, though maybe my wily nature would have gotten me out of town before the pitchforks found me.
I watch too much anime and still cling to my decades-old Pandora Music playlists to get things done. The click of a mechanical keyboard soothes me and I have a goal to obtain a library card at every county library system in Maryland (it's a fun way to explore and supports libraries—win win!), roadtripping to new places with my husband and our 10lb Pomeranian-mix mutt.
I always keep a notepad within reach, to make sure that those middle of the night ADHD-sparkly ideas get recorded before I forget. Some of my best stories happened at 3am when I couldn't sleep. And when an idea or a world takes a strong enough hold, I'll often sit down and completely outline the story arc, plot monster that I am. Be it Alice in Wonderland in a steampunk reality, Isekais to the center of the galaxy, or apocalyptic beings who just kinda want to sit in an overstuffed chair with a cozy book.
Does this mean there are more stories crammed into my brain than time to write them? Unfortunately yes. But that doesn't mean that I won't try to bring them all to life anyway, one completed manuscript at a time.
